Eligibility

NADF provides support to First Nation communities, Indigenous entrepreneurs, and Indigenous-owned businesses operating across Northern Ontario. Our programs and services are designed to help strengthen Indigenous businesses, encourage long-term success, and increase participation in the regional economy. Whether you are launching a new venture or expanding an existing one.

To access NADF programs and services, applicants must meet the following general eligibility criteria:

 

Who Can Apply:

  • Indigenous individuals, including Status and Non-Status First Nation and Inuit, aged 18 and over.
  • First Nation communities and organizations.
  • Indigenous-owned businesses that are at least 51% Indigenous-owned and controlled.
  • Partnerships, corporations, or joint ventures where Indigenous individuals hold majority ownership and control.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be located and operating within NADF's service area, which includes:
    • Nishnawbe Aski Nation (Treaty 9 & Treaty 5)
    • Treaty 3
    • Robinson-Superior 1850, and
    • Independent First Nations
  • The project must show economic potential, and
  • Applicants must be in good standing with NADF and other financial institutions
