Eligibility
NADF provides support to First Nation communities, Indigenous entrepreneurs, and Indigenous-owned businesses operating across Northern Ontario. Our programs and services are designed to help strengthen Indigenous businesses, encourage long-term success, and increase participation in the regional economy. Whether you are launching a new venture or expanding an existing one.
To access NADF programs and services, applicants must meet the following general eligibility criteria:
Who Can Apply:
- Indigenous individuals, including Status and Non-Status First Nation and Inuit, aged 18 and over.
- First Nation communities and organizations.
- Indigenous-owned businesses that are at least 51% Indigenous-owned and controlled.
- Partnerships, corporations, or joint ventures where Indigenous individuals hold majority ownership and control.
Other Requirements:
- Applicants must be located and operating within NADF's service area, which includes:
- Nishnawbe Aski Nation (Treaty 9 & Treaty 5)
- Treaty 3
- Robinson-Superior 1850, and
- Independent First Nations
- The project must show economic potential, and
- Applicants must be in good standing with NADF and other financial institutions
